RUPERT EUGENE

LITTLE STUFFY

  I was born and raised in a suburb of Kansas City, on the Kansas side. My mother, Dorothy, still lives in Kansas. And yes, she oftentimes wears red shoes and is an absolute joy in my life.

   I have a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Sociology from Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, Kansas and a Master's degree in counseling from Boston University-Overseas. I spent many years as a psychotherapist, mostly working with high risk adolescents. My specialty at the time was borderline personality disorders. I also had the opportunity to work with an individual with multiple personalty disorder and it changed the way I looked at life.

   I decided to change careers and attended St. Louis University School of Law. For the past thirteen years I've worked as a research and writing attorney in Federal criminal law and am currently the interim supervisor of the department. I have also supervised MSW students, specializing in mitigation. I feel very fortunate to have my daytime job.

   My partner and I live in a home owned by our three cats, Sam I Am, Felix (Wheels) and Dexter (Little Stuffy). Little Stuffy made his debut in Compulsion, although he goes by his stage name, Little Tuffy. Mr. Rupert was my longtime companion. He passed in 2003 and I still miss him dearly.
